

Violet J. Weeks passed away July 15, 2015 at the age of 92 in Nashville, Tennessee. She was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on December 6, 1922 to Hermon and Ocia Watson. She is survived by one of her siblings, Rev. Roy Watson. Her brother, Rev. Luther Watson and her sister Mrs. Ruth Wine preceded her in death. Violet was wed June 6, 1940 to James A. Weeks in Walbridge, Ohio. Her husband was a pastor, evangelist, and missionary. They served in pastorates in Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Michigan, Missouri, and Tennessee and served as missionaries in Beirut, Lebanon. Violet was active in many aspects of church life: she played the piano, taught Sunday school, and led group activities. Rev. James and Violet Weeks had four children: Sharon (married to Larry Buess), Karen (married to Kenneth Bryant), Gayle (deceased; married to Bob Reagan), and Dale (married to Cathy Bishop). They had 10 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, and 6 great-great grandchildren. The funeral service celebrating her home-going will be Saturday, July 18, 2015 at 11:00am in the chapel at Mount Olivet Funeral Home, Lebanon Pike, Nashville, TN. Visitation will take place on Friday, July 17, 2015 from 4:00-7:00pm and 10:00-11:00am on July 18, 2015 at the Mount Olivet Funeral Home. If people were asked what best described Violet, the most likely words would be: “sweet Godly lady”.
