Due to an accident at birth, our brother was diagnosed with mental retardation. That diagnoses changed names over the years to mentally disabled. Although the name changed Butch never did. He was always a good brother, uncle and friend. Smiling always despite his many challenges in life, that wasn't what you saw when you were with him. He was kind, loving, caring, sympathetic and passionate. Passions were all things Elvis. He loved a good cup of coffee, a good steak and his family.
Our family says thank you to his caregivers with Tennessee Family Solutions. They provided a safe living environment and they became his second family. Butch was a simple man, who cherished everyone and everything. He will always be missed.
Butch is survived by sisters, Kay Colson and Donna Slack; beloved niece, Kim Colson; nephews, Walter (Susan) Colson and Marco (Nikki) Colson. As well as numerous great nephews and nieces.
