Wendy Su Freund of Nashville suddenly passed away early in the morning of August 24th. Wendy is preceded in death by her parents Warren Atkinson and Dolores (Switalski) Atkinson and her brother Dr. Mark Atkinson.
Wendy is survived by her husband Hubert Freund, son Chad Freund, sister Jilayne (Atkinson) Tate step daughter Nicole (Freund) Pelletier, grand-children Jack Freund, Clara Freund and step grand-daughter Jada Pelletier.
Wendy was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and attended elementary and high school in Greendale Wisconsin. She attended Sawyer Business College for a year and started a career in the finance loan business working for banks in Milwaukee and later at AMCA Finance and Ricoh Financial. Wendy moved to Nashville in 2000 with her husband and enjoyed the honky tonking in Nashville and the sounds of Willie Nelson and many other country musicians.
Wendy had juvenile diabetes and struggled with the disease all her life. The diabetes caused most of her health problems and because of that, the Family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Vanderbilt Pediatric Diabetes Clinic at 1215 21st Ave South, Nashville TN 37232.
Visitation is scheduled for August 30th starting at 3 Pm going to 6 pm, followed by a Celebration of Life service starting at 6 Pm at the Marshall-Donnelly-Combs Funeral Home at 201 25th Ave North, Nashville, TN. 37203. After the Visitation and Celebration of Life Service, food, cocktails and beverages will be served at the Funeral Home. The phone number of the Funeral Home is 615-327-1111.
