William H. Coles Jr.

COLES, William H., Jr. - Age 79. October 18, 2011. Preceded in death by parents W. Haggard and Lorena Winkler Coles and brother, Steven Coles. Survived by wife LaNieve Cartwright Coles; daughters Carol Coles Andrews; Laura (Beth) Coles (Richard) Kindma of Cape Coral, FL; brother Ronald P. Coles of Nashville; grandchildren Drew, Will, John and Catherine Andrews of Nashville; Liz, Melissa and Nathanael Kindma of Cape Coral, FL; sister-in-law Susan M. Coles; brother-in-law and sister-in-law John and Betsy Cartwright. Born in Nashville, he graduated from East High School and Samford University where he was president of Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity. He was also a graduate of LSU School of Banking. He retired from First American National Bank as a senior Vice-President. He was a fifty-year member of Jere Baxter-Edgefield Lodge #254, and was 32nd degree Scottish Rite Mason. He was an active member of Immanuel Baptist Church. His interest, aside from family, was genealogy and he was a widely respected researcher and publisher of family history. He was a member of The Society of The Cincinnati. A memorial service will be held at Immanuel Baptist Church, 222 Belle Meade Boulevard, on Saturday, October 22, 2011 at 11:00 AM with Steven Meriweather and David George officiating. Visitation with the family will be at the church one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Immanuel Baptist Church or Alive Hospice, 1718 Patterson Street.
