

William “Will” Armistead Leake, age 73, of Franklin, TN passed away on Monday, January, 13, 2025 after suffering from a serious chronic illness for many years. Will was born on March 6, 1951 in Nashville, TN. He was predeceased by his parents Martha Armistead and John Bowman Leake, his brother, John B. Leake, Jr., his sister Susan L. Boddie and his son, William Preston Leake.
Will is survived by his sister, Martha L. Rowe (William) of St. Louis, MO, his brother-in-law, Josh Boddie of Lebanon, OH, his daughter-in-law, Amanda Leake, his grandchildren, Mikayla, Madilyn, Macey and Preston, all of Franklin, TN, three nephews and two nieces.
Will was raised, educated and worked in Nashville. He enlisted in the U.S. Army and served honorably for two tours of duty as a specialist in Field Artillery. He was part of the 56th Field Artillery Brigade and was deployed to, and faithfully served in, southern Germany as a Persian Missile Crewman.
Will was a devout Christian whose faith and trust in God accompanied and comforted him throughout his life and in his physical suffering. He attended Christ United Methodist Church in Franklin whenever he could and spent time every day on one of his favorite pastimes which was reading from his pocket-sized Bible that was always with him. He was cheerful, caring and kind to all. He rarely complained and he never met a stranger.
His last years were spent at the Center for Living and Learning and Charter Senior Living, both in Franklin, where he made friends with many wonderful people. The family would like to thank the staff at the Center for Living and Learning, especially Fran and Scooter Clippard, and Charter Senior Living, especially Emily Nesbitt, Executive Director and Kelly Bowers, Head of Nursing, for all their kind and caring service to Will. Also the family sends a special thank you to Sylvia Cunningham and Terria Alexander for their devotion to Will for many years.
Visitation at 10:00 will be followed by funeral service at !!:00 at Mount Olivet Funeral Home, 1101 Lebanon Pike on Monday, January 20, 2025.
