Coach Bill Shelton was born on August 14, 1947 and grew up in Nashville, TN. He graduated from Glencliff High School, Peabody College, and received his Master's at Middle Tennessee State University. Bill started his teaching and coaching career at Franklin Junior High School in Franklin Special School District. His coaching included Football and Basketball. He also coached Football at Donelson Christian Academy for several years. He retired from a full career of influencing students and athletes in 2007. Bill died September 1, 2018.
Bill is survived by his wife, Pat Corbin Shelton; two daughters, Kim Newbill of Dyersburg, TN and Kerry Shelton of Nashville; two grandchildren, Katy Newbill and Wyatt Newbill; and 3 canine greyhound children, Sirous, PJ, and Lucy. Bill has been active in greyhound rescue for 20 years
