

William Edward “Bill” WEHBY Sr., age 84, passed away at home surrounded by his family September 8, 2012 after a battle with brain cancer. He was born in Nashville, TN on March 8, 1928. He was loved and cherished by his many family members and friends. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Delores Stephens Wehby; his daughters, Teresa Wrenn, Stephanie (Tommy) Page, Diane (Lee) Carter, Jennifer (Joe) Lewis, Jane (Robert) Stuart, Denise (Dillard) Baker, Leslie (Jason) Arkenberg; and his son, William “Bill” (Teresa) Wehby, Jr.
He was “Paw Paw” to his twenty-three surviving grandchildren; Michael Wrenn, Stephen Wrenn , Gregory Wrenn, Emily Page (David) Steele, Adam Page, Amy Page, Matthew Carter, Luke Carter, Ben Carter, Joseph Lewis, Brian Lewis, Lisa Stuart, Delores Stuart, Jenny (Tad) Barber, Tracy (Neil) Watson, Nancy Margaret Wehby, Anna Wehby, Quintin Wehby, William Wehby, William Harwood, Elizabeth Harwood, Charles Arkenberg and Lilly Arkenberg, and great grand-daughters Eileen Steele and Carlie Belle Barber. He is also survived by his brothers; Mickey Wehby and Sam Wehby; and sisters, Shirley (Lee) Welch and Dolores (Sam) Young; his uncle Bernard Wehby and aunt Elizabeth Wehby.
He was preceded in death by his parents; Jack P. Wehby Sr. and Rossie Ellithorpe; his brother, Jack P. Wehby Jr.; his grand-daughter Abby Christine Carter; and his lifelong friend, Angelo Formosa.
He was a lifelong member of the Cathedral of Incarnation Catholic Parish in Nashville TN and a member of the Father Ryan High School Golden Grad Society. He was retired from Wehby Warehousing and Drayage Company where he was a managing partner. His life revolved around his large family which consumed his energy, his work, his playtime and his passion.
A celebration of his life will be held at Cathedral of Incarnation, 2015 West End Avenue on Tuesday, September 11, 2012 at 10:00 am. Visitation will be on Monday evening, September 10, 2012 at the Cathedral Fleming Center from 4:00pm to 8:00pm with the rosary at 5:00pm. Visitation will also be held one hour prior to the service time on Tuesday.
