He is survived by his children, Josephina, Jesus, Estella, Jaime, and grandchildren Yolanda, Mitzi, Israel, Alexis, Ivan, Benjamin, and Isaac, as well as his great-granddaughter, Baby Love. Eduwiges was a dedicated father, tata, and loving husband. He was born in Jamay, Jalisco, Mexico, and first came to the U.S. in the 1950s to work under the Bracero Program. He was a long-time parishioner at St Jude’s Church since 1969 when he and his wife Paula moved to the area. They dedicated their lives to their Catholic faith and attended Mass regularly, setting an example for all the family to follow. After retiring from work Eduwiges and Paula would volunteer their time guarding the Holy Eucharist on a regular basis. It was not until their health started to deteriorate that they stopped volunteering. They were married for 57 years until Paula passed away in June 2022. Eduwiges was a man of strong faith who taught us the importance of family, respect, and hard work. He lived life to the fullest and loved listening to music, which some of you may recall his phrase “toquenme una que diga mujer!”
We love you, we miss you, and may you rest in peace.
