Kuya Jr. was like an older brother to us and our sisters.  In reality we have the closest
blood relationship as cousins because his Dad and our Dad were brothers, and his Mom
and our Mom were sisters.  He lived with us in Manila while he was going to school, and 
that was a long, long time ago.  He made lots of friends around the neighborhood with his outgoing and friendly personality.  After school, he went back home to his parents and siblings place in San Pablo City.  Eventually, he got married, had children and time  passed.
We got separated by these life changing events, but the memories remained.  He was
blessed with a loving family and he was able to help his children (Ember & Darryl) finish
their nursing education which paved the way for them to immigrate to the USA.
 
Kuya Jr, we remember the time when You, Winnie,  Ember and her husband James visit to Seattle, quite a while ago, and our visits in San Diego.  Yes, those are the happy memories that will remain. 

May the Lord welcome you in Paradise.  Until we meet again, Rest in Peace.

Uncle Junior loves life, loves the outdoors, loves to travel,  loves tennis, loves to joke around, loves to reminisce. He truly is a lively and fun-loving person. He has many superb qualities. My favorite is when he gives me 100% of his attention and also shares his interesting experiences, his insights and his many words of wisdom. He would always say “ remember back then when… and he would go on with his stories that I could not recall. I would tell him “ Uncle, I was only eight then, I could not remember”. I could listen to him all day, it definitely beats reading a book. One thing with Uncle is, his words of wisdom and advice were always in line with the teachings of the Lord.

His inspiring passion to serve God and others is what I try to emulate and I will always remember his simple advice: be good, live a good life and treat people right.

So, Uncle, I will not say goodbye but, rather, until we meet again. Thank you for being a wonderful blessing to us all. May God bless you; may His perpetual light shine upon you and may you Rest In Peace. 


Uncle Junior said to me some time ago, “Michael, you may have gotten your decent looks from your Dad but I think the suave and cool demeanor - you definitely inherited from me”.  Sorry Darryl…

I have special memories of Uncle that I will forever hold. One of them is that whenever he introduces me to his friends, he always narrates the story of our family connection. You see, His dad and my mom’s dad are brothers, and his mom and my mom’s mom, are sisters, that explains the family resemblance.

The last time I saw Uncle before we reunited in the US, was in the Philippines when I was about 12 or 13 yrs old. The next time I saw him, I already had my own family here in the US. I clearly remember how he was when I was a teenager, and how he was when we reunited here. He has not changed. His wit and humor was the same. One time, I answered the doorbell and when I opened the door, I thought Raphael Nadal was at the front door paying me a visit. I did not know that Uncle moved close to where we lived and that he often played tennis at the court close to our house. He was always inviting me, saying that he would teach me how to play tennis and that he would be my coach. I just realized last Saturday that he was looking for someone who will pick him up to play tennis and probably pay for his lessons as well. He would also ask if I had a chess board and wanted to play chess. I asked him where he got his passion for chess and he said “ tinuruan ako ng Lolo mo nung nakatira ako sa mga Mama mo nung nasa collegio ako. Unfortunately I did not have a chess board and missed out on longer conversations with him.


Kuya Jun will always be part of our beautiful childhood memories at SCLM. Looking forward to that day when we can reunite with our dads reminiscing about childhood, telling them all the things that have happened, and showing them all the grown up “apos.”  
What a day that will be!!

As a fellow mission worker in South-Central Luzon Conference in the Philippines, my wife Beth and I always knew Kuya Jun to be cheerful, jolly, animated, and socially engaged.  He's fun to be with. He'd never run out of stories or things to say.

He's honest and frugal as treasurer.  He preached the word of God with passion and power.

We believe that the Lord keeps a special record of his contribution to His salvation work.

Hebrews 10:23, "Let us hold tightly without wavering to the hope we affirm, for God can be trusted to keep His promise."

I'm so sorry for your loss. 
God knows the best  for  him,  so He let him to rest  for a while, while waiting  for God's soon return. We will see you again, Jun, in the blessed resurrection morning.
