With his most recent work in youth prevention he became a beacon of hope for troubled youth in the community. His life experience and ability to overcome struggles gave him the zeal to break barriers and help pave the way for second chances and new beginnings for these “youngsters.” He was able to get through and connect to them in a very unique way. His experience and career with CalFire was the beginning of this journey. He was given an opportunity at a time when no one else would. This sparked in him a passion to show others the same grace and it opened the door for him to show others that there is a better future outside of the streets.
Josh found joy in many extracurricular activities. He loved working on cars, riding his motorcycle, taking long drives through the winding back roads and most recently was enjoying the outdoors going on bike rides through the city.
