With family by her side, Andrée L’Arrivée (nee Auger) peacefully passed away at Vista Park Lodge on August 17th, 2024.
She was predeceased by her husband, Rene, parents Peter and Jeanne Auger, and is survived by son Marc (Diane), grandchildren Katie-Anne and Rachelle, brother Raymond (Judy Ann), and many nephews and nieces.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society and to CancerCare Manitoba.
Andree grew up in St. Boniface, MB. Her mom was a teacher at Provencher school and her dad ran “L’Epicerie Auger” on Dollard Boulevard.
At the age of 2, she was afflicted by polio which left her with limited use of her left side, but she never let that stop her. She went to Teacher’s college, married her husband Rene in 1960, and became a loving wife and mother.
Mom was a teacher for many years in the former St. Boniface School Division and would often run into her former students.
She cherished the memory of a trip to Hawaii with her husband and some of their friends.
She enjoyed music by The Three Tenors, Andrea Bocelli, Michael Buble, and Bryan Adams, and loved watching figure skating. As anyone who knew her knows, she also loved to talk.
In her retirement she could often be found around St. Boniface, usually at Johnny’s Restaurant on Marion Street.
Many thanks to the wonderful staff at Vista Park Lodge who took care of Mom for many years (and of me during her final days), Sunema, Leilani, and everyone at Johnny’s.
We would also like to thank the nephews and nieces who helped and supported Mom over the years:
Reynald (Juliette), Robert (Darlene), Louis, Denise, Angie (Richard), Robby (Tracy), Tommy (Katie), Nicki (Joel), Michelle (Dominic), and many grand-nieces and nephews.
