Angela Pancotto
(Nee Bolognino)
It is with profound grief and sadness, that we announce the passing of our caring wife, mother, nonna, aunt and friend to many.
Angela was born in Valenzano (Bari) Italy on Jan. 18-1942. She came to Winnipeg in 1967 and she was married on Dec. 27-1969 at Holy Rosary Church. She passed away peacefully at home with her family at her side after a tragically brief illness on the 15th of July, 2021. To mourn her passing are her husband Tony, daughter Anna (Peter) and the love of her life, her two grandchildren Daniel and Sophia. She will also be missed by her sister-in-law Mara (Dom) and her brother-in-law Sam (Maria) of Winnipeg. In Italy, she will be mourned by her sister Stella, sister-in-law Thea, sister-in-law Antonella and brother-in-law Giovanni (Maria). Also mourning her will be numerous nieces, nephews and friends in Canada, Italy and the United States.
Angela was employed for many years as a supervisor at Richlu Mfg., where she was very well-liked by everyone for her fairness and decency.
Angela will also be remembered for being an excellent cook. Her grandchildren will miss Nonna’s pasta, and her husband will also miss her great cooking.
Her family would like to thank her countless friends and neighbours for their support and well wishes during her illness. They would also like to thank the nurses of the Palliative Care program and many health care aids for their compassion and their help.
We would like to send a heartfelt thank you to Father Sam Argenziano for visiting and comforting Angela at home during her illness. Angela loved God, her family, her church, and her many friends. She lived by her faith, when God called, she answered with great courage and dignity, putting herself in his hands.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Angela to the Cancer Care Foundation of Manitoba.
