We announce the peaceful passing of our mother Blanche (née Clément) Bohémier on Sunday November 19, 2017 at the age of 91. She is survived by her children Claudette ( Mike Carrière), Georges ( Nancy), Louis (Denise) , daughter-in-law Gail, Denis (Linda), Jeannine (Gerry Gendron), Irène( John Coutts), Philippe (Shelagh), 29 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren as well as her siblings Florence Preteau, Alphonse( Pauline),Doris Bourrier, Arthur (Cathy) and sister-in-law Thérèsa Clément. She was predeceased by her husband Denis and son Michel.
Mom was a great believer in supporting the community and lending a helping hand. Wherever Mom lived, whether in Lorette or St. Boniface, she was involved and active. She belonged to many committees and held leadership roles in La Ligue des femmes catholiques, Club des blés d’or, Déjà Vu, comité social (place Desmeurons), etc. Her organizational skills and ability to get people to work together for a common goal were appreciated by all who worked by her side. She was able to get things done, and to get them well done.
Over the years she worked as a seamstress, an Avon lady, and secretary to local chiropractors. She was a creative & and skilled woman of many talents excelling in sewing, paper toll, painting, porcelain doll making, cooking, gardening. Whatever her hands touched became a work of love, a masterpiece for all of us to admire and cherish. We always considered our mom ‘’ une grande dame,'' a classy and accomplished woman. Mom went about the business of developing her numerous talents and gifts with great humility. She just put in the time and effort, and did it. But in anything that concerned her children, grandchildren & great grandchildren, mom was proud, and not afraid to show it. Her pride in her family was so heart felt, so heart warming, a beauty to behold. She loved family gatherings where she could be with " all her people.'' Love & prayers were her guiding force. Her love for all of us, was boundless and unconditional… priceless.
The service took place at Notre Dame de Lorette Roman Catholic Church on Friday, December 8, 2017. Following the mass, Blanche was laid to rest forever at Green Acres Cemetery.
