With sadness and broken hearts we announce the passing of Brian on January 29, 2021 at home with his family at his side. He will be lovely remembered by his devoted wife of 46 years, Melody, son Nathan (Jennifer) Terin, daughter Jillian (Dean) Rach and his 5 precious grandchildren, Sam, Jack & Ben Terin, Brysen & Brielle Rach who were his pride and joy. Brian will be dearly missed by his mother Marlene Terin, brothers John, Ken, Rob, Darcy Terin and sister Debbie Roman. In addition, his brother in law Garry (Wendy) Dowling and sister in law Rose Dowling and many nieces and nephews. Brian was predeceased by his father Arthur Terin, nephew Steven Kerr and brother in law Charles Dowling.
Brian loved his family and his grandchildren dearly; they were the love of his life and he enjoyed the special moments and time spent with each one of them and the grandchildren always knew that Papa would have special treats in his pocket or truck.
Brian was a proud, Mason and Shriner. He joined the Khartum Shrine in 2000 and was a member of the Patrol Unit and the Khartum Komedians. Brian was a member of the Khartum Divan and was honored to be elected Potentate of Khartum Shrine in 2015.
Brian was an avid sportsman; hunting and fishing whenever he had the opportunity he would head out to the woods or to one of the many lakes in Manitoba and N.W Ontario. He shared many adventures of hunting and fishing with his family and his childhood buddies Butch Surma and Bob Bird.
Those who knew Brian well knew he was perfectionist and everything had to be just right in all facets of his life. When going hunting or fishing he’d spend many hours on preparation and getting all of his gear together even if it was just a day trip, he would always be prepared for a month. Traits that he happily passed onto his son!
The family would like to extend our deepest appreciation to the Doctors and Nurses at CancerCare Manitoba and the Palliative Care Team for their support, compassion and care.
We thank our family & friends for their support, especially, Debbie for driving us to all of appointments and being there for us, and to our neighbors for all of their assistance and the friendship that they have bestowed upon us; we cannot thank you enough.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Brian’s memory to CancerCare Manitoba or to the Khartum Shriners Building Fund www.khartumshriners.org or Shriners Hospital for Children, Canada. www.shrinershospitalforchildren.org.
A private family service has been held and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
