Surrounded by family and friends after a brief but courageous battle with cancer, we are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Carol at age 69, at the HSC on October 4, 2024.
Carol is survived by her husband Ben, sons Ryan (Nicole) and Chris (daughter Charley) and her sister Leslie (David), nephews Tim, Paul & Andy and half-brother David (Ana). Carol was predeceased by her father Dick and her mother Phyllis.
Carol was born in Winnipeg and grew up in St. Vital. She attended St. George Elementary School, Norberry Junior High School, & Dakota Collegiate. After attending the University of Winnipeg, Carol was employed with the Manitoba Telephone System.
Carol was a devoted stay at home mother; raising her boys was her greatest joy. She was a proud sports mom and was Ryan and Chris’ biggest fan. Of special note is the friendship she and Ben made with Karen and Glenn through the hockey community.
When granddaughter Charley was born, Carol found a new profound joy. Carol was enthusiastic about gardening and she took great pleasure in sharing that hobby with Charley.
Cremation has taken place and a private service will be held. In lieu of flowers a donation can be made to the CancerCare Manitoba Foundation or the Children’s Hospital Foundation of Manitoba.
