Peacefully at Actionmarguerite St. Boniface on July 10, 2021, Charles Landry passed away at the age of 87 years.
He was predeceased by his wife of 63 years, Doraine (nee Blomme) in August of 2020. Surviving are his son Roger and daughter-in-law Kathryn (nee Dopson) of Winnipeg; his daughter Louise Papadopoulos of Kenora; and his grandchildren Jennifer, Jessica (Raven) and Nicolas Papadopoulos of Winnipeg.
Charles was born on June 12, 1934 in St. Norbert, Manitoba, the son of Joseph. N Landry and Marie-Agnes (nee Gauthier). He spent his entire 45 year working career in the grain industry, originally with Continental Grain Company in Winnipeg and Montreal, and then in the sales division of the Canadian Wheat Board in Winnipeg, taking retirement in 1995. He was a longtime member of the Winnipeg Grain Exchange and Commodity Exchange.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff of Unit 4DE at Actionmarguerite St. Boniface for their care and compassion over the last 4 years.
In accordance with his wishes, no formal service will be held. A private interment of cremated remains has taken place in Green Acres Cemetery.
