Claude Georges Gendreau

Peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, Claude passed away on Wednesday August 12, 2020 at his residence. Claude will be dearly missed by his siblings Ray Banga (Joan), Lorraine Gendreau, Joanne Swain, Diane Hay (Brad), and Corinne Hodgins who were at his side graciously providing care throughout his illness. His pride and joy were his many nieces and nephews. They will surely miss their very special uncle. Claude was predeceased by his father Henri Gendreau, his mother Reina Gendreau (nee St. Cyr), and niece Eileen Gettman. He leaves to mourn his family and many close friends.

Claude was born April 20, 1961 and grew up in Winnipeg. He attended St. Norbert School and later Steinbach Trade and Vocational School where he graduated. Claude worked several jobs in the hospitality and retail industries before moving to BC where he began a long and rewarding career at The Brick. Claude’s Brick family stretched across Canada. In 1998, Claude returned to live in Winnipeg. Claude was a man of many talents, including a gift and passion for gardening and landscaping. He was a kind and generous man who was admired by many. Claude also possessed a ‘pay it forward’ attitude that touched all his friends and family. He taught us how to forgive and to love each other.

The family would like to extend their appreciation to all his healthcare providers. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to CancerCare Manitoba.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a future date. Claude’s final resting place will be at Green Acres Cemetery. Celebration of Life to follow on October 3, 2020. RSVP to Lorraine at (204) 612-5898.
