She was predeceased by her parents Richard and Deanna Griffen. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Christopher Stroud, her sons, Nicholas and Kole Stroud, her sister Cathrine Griffen (Chris Carberry) and their children Mia and Maia as well as her uncle Orin (Sue) Joistdahl in England. She is also survived by her special cousins Jane (Simon) McDermott and their children Emma and Sam, and Ann (Alex) Blaikley and their children William, and Oliver; her brother-in-law Mike and his children Kira and Tessa, as well as her sister-in-law Sandra (Aurel) Bernardin
and countless dear friends.
Darian was a strong woman, who courageously guided her children, as well as the children she worked with as an Educational Assistant. Darian’s favourite place was the family cabin at Ochre Beach, Manitoba, where she spent every summer with friends and family.
A special thank you is extended to the gyne-oncology staff at HSC Women's Hospital Fifth Floor in Winnipeg for the care they provided Darian throughout her battle. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Cancer Care Manitoba in remembrance of Darian.
