Elsie "Olga" (Katazinski) Bernat

The family sadly announces the passing of our mama, grandma and great grandma. Survived by her children and their families, daughter Pearl (Ron) Novotny, Wendy (Michael), Jack and Henry. Wesley (Sarah), Veronica and Reid; son Eddie (Maxine), Raymond, Teresa (Ryan), Levi and Christopher and David; daughter Gladys; daughter Helen (John), Kyle and Leah; son Richard (Yvette), Steven, Mathew and Amanda; son Harold (Jackie), Grace and Hudson; brother Roy (Lucille); sisters Mary and Ida (Bob), brother in law Ron, along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Elsie was predeceased by her husband Joe, granddaughter Tara, sisters Vera and Marguerite, brothers, Alex and Willie.

Mama was a beautiful, hard working farm lady who loved her family, dairy cows, dogs, flowers, gardens and farm life. Her culinary skills were second to none, baking the flakiest of pie crusts and yeast donuts that floated to the sky. She could whip up a full meal in minutes and no one ever walked away hungry. She ran the farm until the end.

Rest in peace mama.

Our family wishes to thank the staff at Villa Youville for the exceptional care given to mama.

The funeral will be held at Green Acres Funeral Home and Cemetery on Saturday, August 19, 2023 with public viewing at 9:30 am, service at 10:00 am followed by interment. RECEPTION LOCATION HAS CHANGED to TC Energy Centre, 1 Rivard St, Ile des Chenes, MB. Reception to follow the interment.
