Estelle was born in Saint Francois Xavier, Manitoba on October 31, 1934 to Julien and Claire Richard (nee Daignault). After the passing of her father the family moved from Saint Francois Xavier to St. Boniface where she lived almost the rest of her life. Together they raised their three children in Windsor Park and then in Southdale. Estelle and John loved entertaining at home and their home was host to many get togethers with friends.
Estelle stayed home to care for her children and was the quintessential Good Housekeeping Wife. She took great pride in her home and kept it spotless even with three teenagers around. Later she decided to join the work force. First with The Bay at St. Vital Center as a clerk and then with Winnipeg Building Services where she retired at the age of 65.
Estelle was a solitary person in her later years and often spent her time playing games on the computer, doing crossword puzzles and going to the odd bingo game.
Although saddened by our loss we children take comfort knowing that mom and dad are finally together again.
Those we love don’t go away,
They walk beside us everyday.
Unseen, unheard but always near,
Still loved, still missed
And held so dear.
