Mom and dad met in 1954 at Canadian Sportswear where they were co-workers. They married in 1956 and settled in St. Boniface. There they raised their family and remained until her death.
She spent a few years at home raising her family. One of her interests when the children were young was coaching baseball, a sport she enjoyed until her death. She also drove the neighborhood children to school in her station wagon. She was always there as a mom for her 4 children. After the children were grown, she became more interested in bingo, casino bus trips, crafts and sewing. Mom and Dad also bowled on a mixed league on Wednesday nights and later in life enjoyed golfing until they couldn’t any more. They also enjoyed several trips to the U.S. Friday nights were always for dinner out with friends and playing cards afterwards.
She was a good cook and loved baking. She was well known for her cookies in the cookie jar.
Gail was a great mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and a true friend to all who knew her.
The family would like to extend our thanks to the dedicated staff on 5AS at St. Boniface Hospital for the care given to mom.
Memorial Service will be held at Green Acres Funeral Home on Monday, September 30 at 10:00 a.m.
Today, we inter mom and dad together forever. We love you both.
