It is with great sadness that the family announces the peaceful passing of Helen Kaluzny on August 25, 2024 at the age of 83 years.
Helen is lovingly remembered by her devoted husband William (Bill) of 65 years, her children, Randy Kaluzny (Natalia), Susan Kaluzny (Ron), Darryl Kaluzny (Panagiota), Liana Spratt (Darren), grandchildren, Joshua (Srishti), Marcia (Will), Samuel, Shelanda (Michael), Kayle, Layne, Gavin, Mereck, Melina, Nicoletta, and great grandchildren Max and Theo, her brother Jerry Kohut, and Sister-in-law Evelyn Kohut also numerous nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents Jenny and Samuel Kohut, and brothers Edward and Carl.
Mom was born in Vita, Manitoba growing up she lived in Rosa, MB and Winnipeg, she would spend alot of her summers at her grandparents house in Rosa. Helen worked at Smitty's and Keleki's Restaurants and went to school at Tec Voc, when she finished school she got a job with Columbia Pictures, it wasn't a long career there, as she met Bill and when they got married she became a housewife looking after the kids as Bill was out of town working alot.
Mom and Dad enjoyed travelling she liked going to Las Vegas the best. Mom enjoyed going to garage sales and she had tables set up at the flea market. She enjoyed reading, knitting baby hats and headbands, and she really enjoyed her outings to the casino and going to the Legion's meat draw most saturdays. Mom was always cooking this or that and never in small quantities, she was always sending food for the kids and grandkids.
Funeral Service will be held at Green Acres Funeral Home, Highway 1 East at Navin Road , in Winnipeg, at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 3, 2024, with at viewing at 9:30 am. It will also be live streamed and a link will be provided on her obituary at www.greenacresfuneralhome.com
