

It is with sadden hearts on Tuesday, January 27, 2026, at St. Boniface Hospital the family announces the passing of Jeanne Drebit at the age of 80 years. Jeanne was born at St. Boniface hospital on February 21st, 1945.
Left to cherish her memory are her children Richard (Krista), Lisa (Dom) and her beloved grandchildren Jean-Marc, Gilles, and Luc.
Also, her brothers Henri (Cecile), Roger (Angela), sisters Rita (Ken), Lucie (Romeo), Claudette (Bob), Anita (Wade), Yvonne (Jim), Giselle (Bert), many nieces and nephews
Jeanne was predceased by her loving husband Edward, her parents Hilaire and Yvette Gobeil, her in-laws Metro and Tillie Drebit, brother in laws Bill, Victor, and Peter Drebit, nephew Norm, and great niece Delylah.
Jeanne grew up in South Junction Manitoba, she was always helping her mom in the kitchen. Before starting a family, Jeanne worked at the Nutty club, she worked on the production line, and eventually became supervisor. She married Edward Drebit of Grandview on October 28 1972. And had 2 children(Richard and Lisa), and enjoyed the family life. Jeanne also Volunteered at Frontenac school for many years during her children younger years, And eventually she worked at Foyer Valade in the laundry department.
Jeanne enjoyed and loved going back to South Junction with her family almost every weekend throughout the years while the kids were growing up, in which; She enjoyed many bonfires, wiener roasts, extended family gatherings, gardening, and blueberry picking in the summer, and cross country skiing with her children. Jeanne also had a love for cooking from making soups, to her famous cabbage rolls, perisky buns, and of course we can not forget about her cheese cakes that she made her children for their birthdays, and her danties at christmas.
And a lot of patience!
Her favorite saying was always,
“ Patience is a virtue”
She always had a smile on her face. You could never tell when she was worried by anything.
And Final memory, she loved to play her harmonica, the song,
“You are my Sunshine” that she would always dedicate to her loving husband that she missed dearly.
Because, “ You are my Sunshine “
A memorial service will be held at St.Bernadette Parish on March 13th/2026 at 11:00 am.
Flowers are gracefully declined, family and friends wishing to contribute to her memory can donate to Heart and Stroke foundation or a charity of their choice.
