It is with immense sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the unexpected passing of Kimberly Dawn Hay on March 9, 2025, at the age of 63.
Kim will forever be lovingly remembered by her husband of 38 years, Jamie; children: Megan (Ryan), Ian, and Allison (Ernest); grandson: Kai; brother: Jim (Peggy) Trowsdale; sisters: Sharon (Brian) Bencharski, and Kelly (Darren) Farr; brother-in-law: Derek Hay; nieces and nephews: Caitlyn, Matthew, Crystal (Tyler), Brittney, and Austin (Jason); dogs and grand-dogs: Luna, Momo, Hudson, and Walter. She was predeceased by her parents, Walter and Arlie Trowsdale.
Kim was born on March 26, 1961. She grew up in Hadashville, Manitoba and moved to Winnipeg at the age of 10. She graduated from Dakota Collegiate in 1979 and then worked at Eaton’s and Northern Messenger before moving to Hodson Financial, where she worked for many years.
Known for her kindness and selflessness, Kim always made sure everyone around her was happy. She loved nothing more than to spend time with her family and friends. Kim was proud of her three children and the kind-hearted people they have become. She loved it when family stopped by and never let anyone leave unfed or empty handed. Kim was the best babysitter and dogsitter we could ask for. Her grandson, Kai, smiled with excitement every time she walked in the door. She was so proud of Kai and loved watching him learn and grow. Those close to Kim always had her at the top of their call history list. She was the person we all went to for anything, whether it was for life advice, someone to talk to, or a late-night airport pickup. We could always count on her, as she often said, “You do for family”.
Kim enjoyed her summers on the dock at West Hawk Lake, playing bingo with the family on Saturdays, and hosting family dinners. Christmas was Kim’s favourite time of the year. She loved going to craft sales, decorating her home, and everyone loved her Christmas baking. Kim had a way of making everyone feel special. She made friends everywhere she went and always greeted us with a big smile and a hug. She was also known to surprise loved ones with gifts, just because it made her think of them.
She will forever be missed for the love she brought to the lives of those around her. We love you, Mom.
A Celebration of Life will be held on April 3, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at Green Acres Funeral Home, located at 1 Green Acres Lane, Navin, Manitoba, R5T 0H2.
