Loved life, Family, and Friends

Peacefully, after a courageous battle with cancer, Robert (Jim) died on Wednesday, May 31, 2017 at Concordia Hospital, at the age of 80 years.

Loving remembered by his daughter Darlene, son-in-law Robert Larrivee, and grandson JUSTIN, sisters Linda and Mavis, and brother Dave, as well as other relatives and friends.

He was predeceased by his Loving wife Rose Chalmers, parents, Mary and George Chalmers, brother Alfie Chalmers, mother and father-in-law Violet and Stanley Bear, brother-in-law Frank Bear and Tom Bear.

Born in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Robert (Jim) attended Principal Sparling School and Daniel McIntyre Collegiate. He worked as an Automotive Mechanic and Automotive Consultant. He enjoyed spending time out at his hobby farm in Inwood, Manitoba. Robert (Jim) loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, biking and reading. He loved his family dearly and was always there in time of need. He always cherished his time with family and friends.

To celebrate his life, we will remember him together on Wednesday, June 7, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Saviour’s Anglican Church, 690 Munroe Ave. led by Rev. Edmond Laldin. With a luncheon served in the church hall immediately following the service. Interment to follow after luncheon at Green Acres Funeral Home and Cemetery, Hwy. No.1 East at Navin Rd.

A special thank you to family, friends and neighbors who supported him and family through his time of illness.

His family wishes to extend their gratitude to the doctors, nurses, and health care aides who cared for him at Concordia Hospital and especially Dr. Carl Duerksen, Dr. Drachenberg and nurses, GAIL and Paula at Cancer Care Manitoba, also the home care health care aides, Junior, Jose, Chris, Bryan, Ryan, Steven, and others. And thanks to Holly, Michelle, Cassandra at Munroe Pharmacy.
