Peacefully with family by her side on Saturday, August 24, 2024, Simone Carrière, our matriarch, passed away at Actionmarguerite St-Boniface at the age of 108.
She will be lovingly remembered by her children: Jocelyne (Jules), Guy (Murielle), Ghislain (Mary) and Jozianne (Ashmead), her grandchildren: Mark Candaele (Jodi), Michèle Samborski (Terry), Monique Bileski (Bill), Jason Candaele (Lisa), Danielle Carrière (Jim), Gisèle Carrière, Sean Carrière (Kelsey), Stefanie Einfeld (Joshua), Natalie Carrière-Khan (Jesse Vivanco), Chantal Carrière-Khan (Alex Laser), Joshua Carrière-Khan, her great-grandchildren: Charlotte Laser, Félix, Simon Vivanco, Gavin, Cassidy and Norah Einfeld, Charli and Willow Carrière, Tilia Carrière, Cloé and Étiene Carrière, Manuel, Nicholas and Timothy Candaele, Justin, Jaquelyn, Johnathan, Jayden and Jennifer Bileski, Christian Samborski(Mackenzie), Kyle and Melanie Samborski, Mickey Daly, and her great great grandchildren: Logan, Avaree, Sydnee.
She will also be missed by her sister-in-law Florence and numerous nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by her parents, her beloved husband Henri and sister Madeleine.
Simone was born in her home in Ralph area, Sask, on April 21, 1916 to Gisele and Johannes Perricard. She had one sister Madeleine. She married Henri on November 4, 1936 in Storthoaks, Sk, where they lived until 1954: then moved to St-Boniface, Mb where they owned and operated Carriere Grocery Store. Once they sold the store, her love of children allowed her to work in a daycare. She later decided to care for them in her own home for several years. She started swimming at the age of 70 with her husband and friends. She swam until the age of 99. She was also a member of the Club Eclipse for several years. Maman loved to dance, her music and playing cards. More importantly, she loved the company of children and being surrounded by family.
Memorial service will be held on Tuesday, October 15, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. in Green Acres Funeral Home.

Paisiblement avec sa famille à ses côtés, le samedi 24 août, 2024, Simone Carrière, notre maman bien aimée, est décédée à Actionmarguerite St. Boniface à l’âge de 108 ans.
Elle restera dans le souvenir de ses enfants, de ses nombreux petits-enfants, arrière-petits-enfants et arrière-arrière-petits-enfants.
Simone est née le 21 avril 1916 à Ralph Saskatchewan. Ses parents étaient Gisèle et Johannes Perricard. Elle avait une sœur Madeleine. Elle a marié Henri le 4 novembre 1936 à Storthoaks, Saskatchewan où ils ont vècu jusqu’en 1954; quand ils sont déménagés à St. Boniface où ils ont acheté et travaillé dans leur magasin « épicerie Carrière ».
Elle a passé plusieurs années à garder des enfants. Comme passe-temps, elle aimait faire la natation et était membre du Club éclipse. Maman aimait sa musique, la danse et jouer aux cartes. Plus important encore, elle aimait la compagnie des enfants et être entourée de sa famille.
Un service commémoratif aura lieu le mardi 15 octobre à 10h00 dans la Maison funéraire Green Acres.
