Barbara so sorry to hear of your mom's passing.  I just learned today .  Such a wonderful lady and partner with your dad.  I remember all the COUNCIL and COMMISSIONERS meetings we attended.   Thought they would never end!!. Thanks for being a good friend.

I had the pleasure of meeting Aunt Bert in 1975. She has always been a loving lady and as my daughter Darcie stated has had a great impact on the Thompson's family.  My son Darren as a small tot always love sitting and playing  on her bus and is a bus driver today for the Aurora Public schools. During my time in the Air Force, Aunt Bert and Uncle Charlie would visit with us at several of my duty stations in California, and Alaska.  Uncle Charlie and Aunt Burt was always there and supported the Thompson's...they hold a good place in our life and in our hearts.   

Great Aunt Bert was amazing lady. I loved visit her house as a kid. She had her bus parked outside and had a pool. She share her love school buses with my brother, who now is bus driver like her. 
My more recent memories of her is going to Bob Evans with her and Uncle Charlie. We laughed a lot that visit. She will be missed. 


Mrs. Zipp will always have a special place in my heart. She not only drove the bus but loved the kids that rode it. When our son first rode her bus he was a little hyper. She said the other bus drivers told her to suspend him for a few days but instead she came and told me and we worked it out. She did this because I had a new baby and she didn't want me to have to drive to school twice a day. We became friends and although I didn't see her much after she retired she will always have that special place in my family's heart. Bert was my bus driver ....nicest lady and ended up being a family friend.    She always had a smile on her face and she had a warm personality.    Thanks Bert for instilling such good childhood memories.

I met Bert and Charlie through my first husband. She was his aunt.  We built our house next to them and after our divorce I still live there. Neighbors for 39 years. Her school bus was parked in their driveway many years. We all loved Aunt Bert so much. She had such a wonderful laugh. She always told me what she thought!  In the fall she would bake pumpkin pies and always sent us one or two.  My kids have fond memories of her. Bert was a good woman and neighbor. We will be part of a big group that will miss her smile and giggles.  Rest easy Aunt Bert. You have earned eternal peace❤️

When I think of Alberta, I always think about my mom who took care of her when she was a baby, I think of black raspberries , we grew them and she loved them. I think of the fun times we had on the school bus, and how she would stop at the end of the school year and the Gayla Bar so we could have ice cream. I am sitting in my car thinking about the time I took her to lunch and then we went for a long drive all over Clark and Floyd County, and how I stopped by the house and we talked until the Dance was over at St. Marys.  My heart goes out to her kids, not just her Zipp kids, but to all those Floyd's Knob kids she took care of driving them safely back and forth to school.  Bless you Bert, my heart is heavy with your passing.

Alberta was my bus driver and her family and mine have been friends for several generations. She was the sweetest person and had a great sense of humor.  At the Golden Reunion of Floyd Central Saturday night, we were speaking of her and all of us agreed that she had to be one of our favorite bus drivers.  May you rest in peace, my dear friend 

Charlie and Bert were the sweetest neighbors. She will be missed but she is reunited with Charlie. Rest well.

I always loved Bert’s  voice and laugh. I can still hear it. It was infectious.  She had a  happy disposition and was fun to talk to.  She will be missed.

Bert  was my cousin and good friend. We talked on the phone every week.  I spoke to her the night before she died. I will really miss her.

Always love this beautiful lady. She was so kind and had a beautiful  smile and laugh. 
She always made sure I had a ride to activities during my school years.
