Alberta A. Zipp

Alberta A. Zipp, 78, passed away Saturday, July 27, 2019 at The Villages of Historic Silvercrest. The daughter of the late Albert and Rose Kirchgessner Kruer was born on September 19, 1940 in Floyds Knobs, Indiana. She was a member of St. Mary of the Knobs Catholic Church. She retired in 2005 from New Albany- Floyd County Schools after driving a school bus for 36 years. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Charles L. Zipp. Survivors include daughter, Barbara Lamb and her husband, Kevin; daughter, Betty Batliner and her husband, David, and their children, Sara Downs (Brent), Melissa Pierson (Brad) and their son, Matthew, and Emily Bickers (Jonathan), and their son, Elliott; son, Larry Zipp and his wife, Karen, and their sons, Andrew (Brynn) and their child, Bristol, and Christopher (Marie) and their children, Conner and Isabella; and son, Ronald Zipp and his daughters, Mary Hammer (Cory) and Angela Jackson (Corey) and their son, Vincent; and a brother, Ralph Kruer (Diana). Visitation will be 1 pm to 8 pm Wednesday, July 31, 2019 at Kraft Funeral Service, 708 E. Spring Street, New Albany and after 10 am on Thursday, August 1, 2019 at St. Mary of the Knobs Catholic Church. Her Funeral Mass will be 11 am Thursday, August 1, 2019 at St. Mary of the Knobs Catholic Church, with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Expressions of sympathy are suggested to the Crusade for Children.
