Angela “Angie” Anderson passed away unexpectedly, leaving her family and all who loved her heartbroken and stunned by her sudden loss. She leaves behind four children: Alexandria Faith, Austin Revels, Angelica Anderson, and Adrianna Jenkins. She also lovingly embraced her stepdaughter, Carolyn Henderson, and her step granddaughter, Oaklyn Alexander, both of whom held a special place in her world.
Angie is survived by her siblings: her sister Jessica Rusch and Jessica’s long-term partner Kyle Stone, her sister Deborah Owens and husband Joseph T. Owens, and her brother Carl “Wesley” Anderson. She is also survived by her uncles Roy Slate and Melvin Anderson, and her aunt Rhonda Slate. For the last twelve years, Angie shared her life with her partner, Donald Henderson, whose love and steadiness accompanied her through every chapter.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Lisa Anderson, and her grandmother, Delores Slate. The father who raised her, David Lee Lester, survives her and will continue to honor her memory with deep affection.
To know Angie was to know a force of nature. She was a hurricane of a woman who moved through life with intensity, passion, and undeniable presence. As quickly as she could bring storm clouds, she could just as easily brighten a room with her warmth. Angie was determined, stubborn, and confident in her “my way or the highway” approach to life. Her silly, contagious laugh could lift the heaviness from any moment. She gave remarkable advice, even if she rarely followed it herself. She was brilliant yet sometimes naive, bold and occasionally reckless, but all of it wove together to create the beautifully misunderstood woman she was.
Angie faced many challenges and carried the scars that proved she was always a fighter. She walked through life with courage, even when she doubted her own strength. Her greatest regret may have been never fully believing in what she was capable of achieving. It is the hope of those who love her that she now finds the peace, clarity, and forgiveness that were so often just beyond her reach.
