Arline proudly and honorably served in the United States Army. She trained through the Women’s Army Corps School and served as a member of the Women’s Army Corps.
She is survived by her children, Angela Salas, Mario Salas, and Monica Salas, in whom she instilled a sense of duty and compassion, and her grandchildren, Connor, Logan, Michelle, and Ian. Her family gave her much joy, as she did for them.
She loved Dr Pepper, folk music, and the underdog. In addition, her faith led her to comfort the afflicted, feed the hungry, clothe the naked, and welcome the stranger. In sum, Arline led a life of service, and we are all better for her having been among us.
In accordance with her wishes, Arline will be cremated, and her ashes will be interred at the Indiana Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
Those wishing to make gifts in her memory might consider Dare to Care, Heifer International, and the Julio Cesar and Arline Gail Salas Family Endowment at Hanover College.
