

Mr. Arthur Joseph Morrison, age 72, of Lithia Springs, passed away on Thursday, January 18, 2024. He was born October 1, 1951 in Jeffersonville, Indiana to the late Mr. Arthur Joseph Morrison and the late Mrs. Bonnie Mae Morrison.
Arthur was a loving husband, father, gramps, great gramps and friend. His departure leaves a void in the hearts of all who knew him. With a career spanning many years in the roofing and contracting industry, Arthur became renowned for his exceptional craftsmanship and unwavering dedication. In his later years he worked with CSX Railroad as a locomotive engineer. Beyond his professional life, Arthur had a zest for living life to the fullest. He found immense joy in spending time outdoors. One of Arthur's greatest joys in life was being with his beloved grandchildren. Their laughter filled his heart with warmth and happiness. Arthur also had a great love for animals. His dogs were more than just pets; they were faithful companions who accompanied him on countless adventures. Outside of work and family life, Arthur had an eclectic range of interests that highlighted his personality. He derived great pleasure from working on his trusty tractor, tending to his land with care and precision. Watching classic movies was one of his favorite pastimes; and what better accompaniment to movie nights than a big bowl of popcorn? Sports held a special place in Arthur's heart, and he passionately supported the Indiana Hoosiers and the Atlanta Braves. Arthur Joseph Morrison leaves behind a legacy of hard work, integrity, and love. He will be remembered for his appreciation of life's simple pleasures and his unwavering devotion to his family.
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his son, Ryan Morrison; brother, Arlie Dotson; sister, Dolores Petty.
He is survived by his loving wife, Mrs. Sherry Lynn Morrison; daughter, Julie (Allen) Hand of Douglasville; son, Scott (Marla) Morrison of Douglasville; sister, Tommie Lou (Tom) Guernsey of Sellersburg, Indiana; brother, Vincent Morrison of Sellersburg, Indiana; grandchildren, Renee, Brian, Abby, Chris, Brittany and Will; great grandchildren, Jinnah, Eli, Caleb, Callen, and Cael; mother in law, Lucy Guernsey of Sellersburg, Indiana; many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral home on Sunday, January, 21, 2024 from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM. The funeral service will take place at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Douglasville on Monday, January 22, 2024 at 11:00 AM with Pastor Danny Horsley officiating. The family will receive friends at Kraft Funeral Service, 2776 Charlestown Road, New Albany, Indiana on Saturday, January 27, 2024 from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm. The internment will take place privately at Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park in New Albany, Indiana.
