Barbara graduated from NAHS in 1951 and married Mel Jackson in 1953. She was a life-long resident of New Albany and attended DePauw United Methodist her whole life before moving to Clarksville into assisted living/healthcare at Westminster.
No matter where Mom went, she knew someone. When she hesitantly moved into independent living, the first day she met her long-lost cousin, Laverne. She never skipped a beat from that day forward and enjoyed the social gatherings, bingo, and performances. She especially loved the musical ones as she played piano, sang in the high school choir, and at church for years.

Special thanks go out to the staff of Westminster Village and Health Care, Amedisys Hospice, for their excellent care, her two favorite nieces (Carol White and Sandra Utrecht) for their many visits over the years, and the Byerley family for their caregiving.
