Beatrice S. Hawkins

Beatrice S. Hawkins, 92, of Floyds Knobs, Indiana, passed away July 20, 2019 at Baptist Health Floyd. She was born on July 10, 1927 in Elizabeth, Indiana to the late Thomas and Mary Hess Farris. Beatrice was a real estate broker the majority of her life and owned Hawkins Real Estate Company. She was a self taught musician playing the piano and organ at her church, New Albany Seventh Day Adventist and spent hours working in her garden. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 68 years in 2013, James G. Hawkins; a son, James S. Hawkins; two sisters, Hester Brewer and Elsie Seipel; and a brother, Ed Farris. Bea is survived by her two loving daughters, Sue Hawkins and Sheri Hawkins; three grandchildren, Jeff Hawkins, Lonnie Hawkins and Karen Hawkins; four great-grandchildren; and four great-great grandchildren. A service to celebrate her life will be conducted Thursday, July 25, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at Kraft Funeral Service, 2776 Charlestown Road with private entombment in Kraft-Graceland Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday, July 24, 2019 from 4-8 pm and on Thursday from 1-2 at the funeral home.
