
Carl served his country as an Army Veteran, carrying forward a steady sense of duty and faithfulness that shaped the way he moved through the world. In his work as an interior designer and event coordinator, his compassionate spirit and devoted attention to others were evident in the care he brought to every detail and the warmth he helped create for those around him. Carl and his partner, Steve revitalized numerous historic buildings on Main Street including The Parthenon (First State Bank of Indiana), The
Culbertson Widows Home and Culbertson West (Samuel Culbertson residence).
In the community, Carl gave his time and leadership with purpose. He served as former president and board member of SoIN Tourism, officially known as the Clark-Floyd Counties Convention & Tourism Bureau. He also contributed through the Main Street Preservation Committee, and is a member of Elks Lodge 270 and the American Legion Hornickel Post 379—commitments that spoke to his belief in fellowship, civic pride, and service beyond self.
In addition to his parents, Carl was preceded in death by a brother, Louis Holliday and brother-in-law, Norbert Bippus.
Carl is survived by his partner of 31 years, Steven Goodman; and his siblings, Harold Holliday (Bonnie), Roland Holliday (Cindy), Mallie Bippus, and his twin brother, Marcus Holliday (Jacque); and wonderful cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
Memorial Visitation will be from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm on Wednesday, May 27, 2028 at Kraft Funeral Service, 708 East Spring Street, New Albany, Indiana 47150 with a memorial service to celebrate his life beginning at 2:00 pm.
