Carl Thomas Spalding

Carl Thomas Spalding , 66 years of age died Saturday April 19th, 2014 at Jewish Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky. He was born June 18th, 1947 in Louisville, KY. to Carl C. and Aliene (Akers) Spalding and was a machinist with the Scheu & Kniss Company in Louisville.

Carl was a U.S. Navy Veteran, member of American Martyrs Catholic Church and the K.of C. in Scottsburg, IN. Carl loved his wife of 45 years Gloria and loved to spend time with his children and grandchildren. He will be fondly remembered and missed by all who knew him.

He is preceded in death by his father Carl C. Spalding.

Survivors include:

Wife of 45 years: Gloria J. Stroud Spalding

Two Daughters: Beverly Ann Newcomb and husband Jim

Frances Long

Five Grandchildren: Gage, Heather, Alex, Brittany and Abigail.

Mother: Aliene (Akers) Spalding

Six Siblings: Bob Spalding and wife Bonnie

Marilyn Currier and husband Ambrose

Shirley Richmere

Betty Atcher and husband Carl

Also Surviving are many nieces and nephews……

Reception of family and friends will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm Wednesday at Kraft Funeral Service, 2776 Charlestown Road, New Albany, Indiana. Additional reception will be held from 10:00 am until 12:00 noon Thursday at the church with the Funeral Liturgy to be held at 12:00 Noon Thursday at American Martyrs Catholic Church in Scottsburg, IN. with Military Honors to follow…. Private Entombment will be in the Chapel of the Cross at Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park in New Albany.
