Carolyn Virginia McCoy passed away on March 8, 2026, at the age of 81. Born on August 4, 1944, in New Albany, Indiana, to the late Allen and Helen Barger Turton. She was a retired School Teacher at Georgetown Elementary School for over 40 years. Carolyn was a lifelong member of Georgetown Christian Church and loved gardening, drawing and working in her flower garden.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husbands, Morris Taylor and James McCoy.
Carolyn is survived by two children, Christopher Taylor and Melissa Celichowski (James); grandchildren, Taylor Bye (Samantha), Alex Miller (Abby), Mackenzie Wilfong, Wesley Celichowski, Callie Jo Celichowski (Andrew); three great grandchildren; and a cousin, Bob Wells (Carolyn).
Visitation will be held at Kraft Funeral Service, 708 E. Spring Street, New Albany, Indiana 47150, on Sunday, March 15, 2026, from 12:00 pm to 5:00 pm.
Funeral Service will be held at Georgetown Christian Church, 9420 IN-64, Georgetown, Indiana 47122, on Monday, March 16, 2026, at 11:00 am with burial to follow in Wolfe Cemetery.
