

Catherine E. (Hoffman) Maymon, 85 years of age died Friday November 4, 2016 at her residence surrounded by her family. She was born December 26, 1930 in Milltown, Indiana to the late Martin and Lizzie (Hilgert) Hoffman. Catherine was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She formerly was a manager with Cloth World Fabric Store in New Albany, Indiana. She loved traveling in their RV and had many talents in sewing, crosstitching, and crafts.
Catherine was the widow of John Leonard Maymon to whom she was married for some 58 years and an active member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church. She also donated much time to the Soup Kitchen. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and siblings, Dorothy Parker and Owen Hoffman.
Survivors include eight children, Mona Lewen (Bob), Rhonda Eckert (Bob), John Michael Maymon (Sue), Joe Maymon (Kim),The Most Rev. Mark Maymon, Archbishop of Philadelphia and the Diocese of E. Pennsylvania, Kim Maymon, Pat Maymon (Carol), and Shanon Maymon. 18 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Monday November 7, and after 9 a.m. Tuesday at Kraft Funeral Service, 2776 Charlestown Road, New Albany, Indiana. Her Funeral Liturgy will be 11 a.m. Tuesday November 8, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in New Albany with entombment to follow at Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park. Expressions of sympathy to Floyd County Animal Rescue League, Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, or Alzheimers Association.
