It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Charles “Charlie” Carroll, who died on December 22, 2024, at the age of 69. A devoted father, skilled pipefitter, and avid bowler, he was known for his humor, kindness, and ability to make anyone feel like family.
Charlie worked for many years as a pipefitter for the gas company, where he is remembered as a beloved member of the team, lifting up everyone around him with his kind heart and joking nature. He was deeply proud of his hometown, New Albany, and enjoyed being an active part of the community, including his bowling league. His good-natured personality led him to be a friend to all - he never met a stranger and always found ways to be a light for others. He truly touched the lives of everyone who knew him.
Above all, he was a devoted father to his two children, Holly and Alex Carroll, whose lives were enriched by his unconditional love, endless laughter, and boundless support.
He is survived by his daughter, Holly, and son, Alex (Kristopher) Carroll, as well as numerous friends and family who will miss his warm spirit and infectious smile.
A visitation for Charlie will be held Sunday, December 29, 2024 from 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Kraft Funeral Service, 708 E. Spring Street, New Albany, Indiana 47150. A funeral service will occur Monday, December 30, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Kraft Funeral Service.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Kosair for Kids and/or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
