Charles E. "Bud" Dowdle

Charles E. “Bud” Dowdle, 85 years of age died Thursday July 14th, 2016. “Bud” was born July 30, 1930 in New Albany, IN to the late Leo William and Martha (Sauerheber) Dowdle. He was a retired employee of the General Electric Co., a veteran of the U.S. Army and member of Bonnie Sloan Post #28 American Legion. “Bud” will be greatly missed by his wife of 34 years Pam and family. He will be fondly remembered by all who knew him and especially missed by his grand-dog “Elli”. “Bud” was preceded in death by his parents, two sons; Edward and Gregory Nye, grand-daughter Kara Jo Ashley and sister Martha Alice Binkley. The family acknowledges a special thanks to his “Caregiver” Donna McDonald for all her help and support.

Survivors include:

Wife of 34 years: Pamela G. (Morgan) Dowdle

Children: Laura Brooks (Terry), Tim Dowdle, Beverly Lynch (Rick), Ehrin Dowdle,

Jeremy Hall, and step-son Doug Hammond (Chris)

Also Surviving are 11 Grandchildren, 10 Greatgrandchildren and 1 Great-great grandchild.

He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm Sunday July 17th, and after 10:00 am Monday at Kraft Funeral Service, 2776 Charlestown Road, New Albany, Indiana. His Funeral Service followed by Military Honors will be held at 2:00 pm Monday July 18th, with private burial to follow at Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park.
