Clarence Donald Jones

Clarence Donald Jones, 93 years of age passed away on October 22, 2021 in New Albany. He was born October 8, 1928 in Jeffersonville, Indiana to the late Herbert and Anna Mae Jones. Clarence was a veteran of the United States Marine Corp, a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and the old New Albany Country Club. His wife of 65 years, Betty Ann Jones, grandson, Kevin Jones, and 12 siblings preceded Clarence in death. He was especially close with his brother, Bob Jones, sister, Barbara Schnatter, and their families.

During his career as an award winning salesman, Clarence developed many lifelong friendships. He was skilled in many diverse areas, including his art projects and limerick composing, many friends and family members enjoyed being recipients of these. With his experience in construction and carpentry, he had many projects, plus enjoyed helping family members and countless others with their home improvement projects. He spent many enjoyable hours hosting friends and associates on his porch. Clarence was an outstanding husband, father, and grandfather. His family remained his top priority throughout his life.

Survivors include his children, Jeff Jones (Karen), Janice Smith (Steve), John Jones (Janet), Julie Schamel (Steve), Jim Jones (Catherine); 8 grandchildren, Michael Jones, Elizabeth Schamel Munk, Bradley Schamel, Zachary Schamel, Victoria Jones, Stephanie Smith Kuma, Laina Jones, Mason Jones; and 6 great grandchildren.

Visitation will be 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm Monday, November 1, 2021 at Kraft Funeral Service, 2776 Charlestown Road, New Albany, Indiana 47150. His Funeral Mass will be 9:00 am Tuesday, November 2, 2021 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family request donations to his church or Our Lady of Providence High School.
