Diana L. Recktenwald

Diana was born in Louisville, Kentucky to the late Herman and Virginia (Heaton) Dettlinger. As a nurse, her life revolved around caring for others. Like the true force of nature she was she brought warmth and sunshine to those lives she touched. She was known as a loving wife and daughter, caring mother, and proud grandmother.

She was a proud graduate of Clarksville High School, class of 1972. She attended Spaulding College, and she graduated with her BSN in 1976. She went on to spend her entire career at Jewish Hospital, retiring in 2020 after 44 years.

Diana is preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Tony and Tim; and a daughter, Courtney.

She is survived by her devoted husband of 47 years, Kevin Recktenwald; daughters, Stacy (Brian) Kochersperger and Brittany (Brian) Montgomery; son, Nick (Kim) Recktenwald; and six grandchildren.

Visitation will be held at Kraft Funeral Service at 708 East Spring Street in New Albany from 4:00pm to 8:00pm on Thursday, March 7th, 2024.

Her funeral mass will be at 10:00am Friday, March 8th, 2024 at Saint Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Clarksville, officiated by Friar John Bamman OFC Conv. with burial to follow at Fairview Cemetery in New Albany.
