Donnie was a great friend throughout my junior and senior high school years. Donnie went to Disney World with my parents and me twice; we were 14 the first time, 17 the second. 

I remember a day when we cut classes at NAHS and went offroad 4-wheeling in his uncle Sam's 4-wheel drive vehicle. 

Though our paths diverged after high school, I will always hold fond memories of the trips we made (including the one to Myrtle Beach and Florida with David Carroll and Brian Lang - I believe David posted a picture from that trip).

My prayers are with Donnie's family and friends. I believe the scripture that says God is ". . . the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God." 2 Corinthians 1:3-4

May God's comforting mercies be with you all.

RIP my friend. You may have been my nephew but you were more of a friend. The memories of our adventures over the years brings a smile to my heart. 

No words can fill your loss at this time however may your memories bring some peace and comfort to you and your love ones.

I'm very sorry to hear about Donnie. I know how hard it is to lose a brother. Prayers of peace for your family during this difficult time.


Donnie and I spent much of our lives together. Throughout junior high, high school, at Purdue and as adults with families. He was a musical mate and we shared many albums, concerts and jamming on the guitar together. We discussed music for hours and hours. We were like brothers and I loved him very much as did my wife Traci and our son and daughter. He was always welcome in our house and we were always welcome in his. He was so proud of his daughters and talked endlessly about them and their accomplishments. The world is certainly sadder today for me. Donnie was always so positive about life and you couldn’t help be influenced by his attitude. He was so much fun to be around. I hope he’s playing a Stratocaster somewhere. What a guy!

David Carroll

RIP my cousin and dear friend.  I will always remember the time you and I went to Nashville to see Eric Clapton in concert. Our seats were in the nosebleed seats all the way in the back.  You said, let's go talk our way into someone's luxury box. So off we went to the elevator taking us to that level.  When the door opened, there were 3 or 4 security guards there to make sure that no one would do what we were doing. We acted like we belonged with the group getting off the elevator and made our way down the hall. One by one, Donnie, you would knock on doors to the luxury boxes and give them a story trying to talk our way into their luxury box. Each time we were refused. One was Kerry Underwood's private box.  Upon hearing that, you gleefully asked, CAN WE MEET HER?  Once again, we were refused. Finally, we came to another door, and you asked if we could come in just to get a better look at the stage. The man in charge of that room said, sure!  Grab some food and drinks too!  We thanked the man, walked in and helped ourselves.  I remember you looking at me and saying, if we can make it until they turn out the lights, we are IN for the whole concert!  Long story short, we saw the Eric Clapton concert from a private luxury box while pigging out on free food and drink.  All because you could talk to anyone and had the nerve to confidently ask.   I love you cousin and will miss you.   

Gone too soon. Donnie was the oldest of us cousins. He was always kind to me. May he rest in peace.

This family has been a joy for my life; Donnie since the 5th grade has been my true friend. He's the influence for my moving to Tampa, which opened my eyes to life long changes. I use to call him pistol Pete Maravch, he was a hell of a shooter. While I'll miss him, scripture tell us, to be absent from the body, is to be present with the Lord. A note to say thank you Donnie Camm for all the warm hospitality you and your family showed me as a young man coming up in New Albany. No questions, no judgement, no awkwardness. Just good people being kind to another. I’ll always remember. I’ll never forget! RIP. 

I want to express my sadness. It was such a shock. You all are in my prayers that you will find comfort in your memories. I know Donnie will be missed.

I am so sad to read of Donnie's passing. We were in the Youth Group at the First Church of God together.  He was more my little sister's age and they were good friends.
He was a lot of fun and definitely one of the good guys.
I know you will be terribly missed by your family and friends Donnie.
