Dorothy Witt Fordyce

Dorothy Witt Fordyce, age 81, of Jeffersonville, Indiana, passed away on Sunday, March 16, 2025. She was born on October 17, 1943, to the late Alvin and Pauline (Meyer) Rue. Dorothy was a long-time member of Northside Christian Church, where she enjoyed volunteering for the church food pantry.

Dorothy was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother. Spending time with her family was the highlight of her life. She was always doing arts and crafts with all of the grandchildren. She enjoyed visiting nursing homes and playing bingo with the residents. She also loved her two dogs, Teddy and Buddy.

Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 20 years, and father of her children, Dale Witt; two daughters, Linda Anderson, and Lisa Whyte; grandchildren, Chase Brannon and Trisha Whyte; great-granddaughter, Mariah Daniel; several of her siblings; along with her most recent husband, Irvin Fordyce.

Dorothy is survived by her children, Annette Waiz (Alan), Janette Scalf, Jacqueline Brannon, Tamara Daniel, Timothy Witt (Rachel); sisters, Charlene Rose and Jan Creech; and numerous cherished grand, great, and great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 19, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Kraft Funeral Service, 2776 Charlestown Road, New Albany, Indiana.

A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, March 20, 2025, at 11:00 a.m.
