Military Honors and Masonic Service for Fred Fannin Hays, 83, of Clarksville, will be at 7 p.m. Thursday, June 14, at Kraft Funeral Service, Charlestown Road Chapel, New Albany. Burial will be private in Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park, New Albany. He died Sunday, June 10, 2012, at Floyd Memorial Hospital and Health Services.
The son of the late Frederic C. and Margaret E. Heitzman Hays, he was born Aug. 14, 1928, in Sandy Hook, Ky. He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran and member of Jeffersonville Lodge No. 340 F.&A.M. He worked 15 years as a Clarksville Police Officer and then 24 years for Paper Products in Clarksville.
Survivors include his wife of 32 years, Linda L. Hays; a son, Rick Williams; a daughter, Rita Hays; sister, Jaline Field; two granddaughters; and two great- grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 2 to 7 p.m. Thursday, at the funeral home.
