Gaye Emily

Evelyn "Gaye" Emily, age 75, of New Albany, Indiana passed away on Tuesday, August 6, 2024. Gaye was born in New Albany, Indiana on January, 12th, 1949 to the late Frank and Evelyn (Chandler) Burgenheim. Gaye married her high school sweetheart Danny Emily on August, 16th, 1967 in New Albany, Indiana. She was a proud long time employee of the Army Corp of Engineers and the Census Bureau. She loved being outdoors with her family especially riding on the golf cart or sitting on her porch swing. Gaye enjoyed planting flowers and playing board games "Sorry" with her grandchildren. Her weekend pastime was Saturday at Tommy Lancaster's and Sunday family dinner.

Gaye is preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband of 49 years, Danny Emily; and her German Shepherds Sissy and Duke.

Gaye is survived by her children, Angie (Tom) Yellina of New Albany and David (Tabitha) Emily of Lanesville; grandchildren, George (Jenna) Emily, Drew Yellina, and Emily (Patrick) McCutcheon; great grandchild, Everett; her German Shepherd, Buddy, and other loved family members.

A visitation will be held at Kraft Funeral Service, 2776 Charlestown Road, New Albany, Indiana on Sunday, August, 11th, 2024 from 1:00 pm to 6:00 pm and Monday, August 12th, 2024 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm.

Her funeral service will be held at Kraft Funeral Service on August 12th, 2024 at 1:00 pm with entombment to follow at Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers the family would love for you to consider a donation to the Alzheimer's Associations. https://www.alz.org/?form=FUNSETYDEFK
