

He retired from Sonoco Products and Boise Cascade, after 33 years of service between the two. He was also a very proud Marine Corp Vet serving our country for 6 years. He loved serving as an embassy guard at different posts abroad and stateside, he loved traveling the world. He was a member of the American Legion Bonnie Sloan Post #28.
In his younger days, he loved playing golf and bowling. His yard was his pride and joy. He kept it immaculate and was envied by all the neighbors.
George was preceded by his parents; the love of his life, his wife of 45 years, Maxine Lambert Brock; his loving daughters, Sharon Ballew Shope, Diann Rodriquez; his brother Junie Brock and sister Louise Franklin.
He is survived by daughter Rhonda Collins (Jack), great-granddaughter, who he had the pleasure of helping to raise, Breanna Boynton (Eric), grandson Chetty Ballew (Leslie), granddaughters, Natalie Bennett, Rachel Atwood, and Becca Hardesty. Great-granddaughter Alexandria Henson (Brodie) and Great-great-Grandson Waylon Henson. Niece Laura Jackson (Robby) and nephew Keith Brock (Jill) and their families.
A visitation will be held at Kraft Funeral Service, 2776 Charlestown Road, New Albany, Indiana on Sunday, August 24, 2025 from 1:00 pm to 6:00 pm and on Monday, August 25, 2025 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Monday, August 25, 2025 at 12:00 pm with his graveside to follow at Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers the family asks for donations to the American Legion Post #28.
