Helen J. Aemmer

Helen J. Aemmer, 87, of Floyds Knobs, Indiana, passed away September 1, 2019 at Guerin Woods Villa. She was born on January 23, 1932 in New Albany, Indiana to the late Earl and Rose Copas. She was retired from American Legion Post 42 in Floyds Knobs where she enjoyed bartending. She was a member of the Women's Auxiliary and remained an active volunteer after her retirement. She was a member of St. Mary of the Knobs Catholic Church for over 60 years. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Albert "Joe" Aemmer; siblings, Wilma Bishop and William "Billy" Copas. She is survived by her children, Cindy (Patrick) Spainhour and Michael Aemmer; grandchildren, Matthew, Erika, Alexis, Layla and Mia; and eight great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 2-8 pm on Thursday, September 5, 2019 and from 10-11 am on Friday, September 6, 2019 at Kraft Funeral Service, 2776 Charlestown Road. Funeral Services will be conducted Friday, September 6, 2019 at 11:00 am at the funeral home with entombment in Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park.
