J. Fred McCain, 65 years of age died Friday, June 28, 2013 at Clark Memorial Hospital in Jeffersonville. He was born July 11, 1947 in New Albany, Indiana to the late Jesse and Ruth McCain. Fred was the owner of the EZ Food Mart in Jeffersonville and was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn B. McCain.
Survivors include his sons, Christopher McCain (Kelly) and Shane McCain (Traci); sisters, Linda Ashwood, Donna Sturgeon (Eddie), Patricia Swinney (Gene), Sandra McFarland (Wendell), Jacqueline Manley (Bob), Mary Jo Steed (Jim), Cindi McCain (Tom Campion); brothers, David McCain (Cindy) and John McCain; grandsons, Carson and Nolan McCain; granddaughters, Karli, Hali, and Kimberli McCain; companion, Marcie Plue and her daughter Jennifer Irvin; numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 10:00 am ~ 8:00 pm Monday at Kraft Funeral Service, 2776 Charlestown Road, New Albany, Indiana. His Funeral Mass will be 10:00 am Tuesday at Holy Family Catholic Church with burial to follow in Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park in New Albany, Indiana.
