James Michael Hurley

Mike proudly served in the United States Navy from 1964 to 1967. During his time in the Navy, he met the love of his life, Joan (O'Donnell) Hurley. Together they built a life centered around faith, family, friends and many cherished memories.

A graduate of Daleville High School and Ball State University, Mike was a manufacturing engineer for Delco-Remy General Motors before retiring to Sellersburg.

He had a lifelong passion for model railroading and spent many hours building and enjoying his models; a hobby that reflected his patience, creativity, and love of detail.

Mike is survived by his loving wife, Joan (O'Donnell) Hurley; his daughter, Angela Hurley Jorden (Barry); his son, Brian Hurley; and his brother, Robert Hurley (Samantha). In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Judy Hurley Wicker and Marilyn Hurley Gilliland.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, at St. John Paul II Catholic Church in Sellersburg, Indiana. Calling hours will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the Mass at the church.

Mike will be remembered for his devotion to his family, his service to his country, and the joy he found in the hobbies and people he loved.
