Janet Thomas

Janet Thomas, 76, of Elizabeth, passed away on, June 27, 2022. Janet was born on January 27, 1946, in New Albany, Indiana to the late Joseph and Joyce Kerstiens. She was married to her loving husband of 56 years, Denis Thomas.

Janet was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She lived a life of service and was dedicated and always willing to help. Janet was a lifelong volunteer for many activities for her family, church, and many other community causes. Janet attended St. Joseph Catholic Church in Corydon, Indiana.

Along with her husband, Denis Thomas, Janet is survived by her two sons, Doug Thomas (Rose) and Scott Thomas (Lisa); seven grandchildren, Nicholas Thomas (Megan), Zachary Thomas (Jessie), Christanna Gerdon (Jacob), Bethany Keeton (Jacob), Anna Thomas, Julia Thomas, and Lucas Thomas; as well as nine great-grandchildren; two brothers, Bob Kerstiens (Jeanne) and Joe Kerstiens.

Along with her parents, Janet is preceded in death by her brother, Don Kerstiens, and sister, Carol Ann Lilly.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 5, 2022, from 12:00 pm to 8:00 pm, Kraft Funeral Service, 708 East Spring Street, New Albany, Indiana 47150.

The family has chosen to have a private funeral service.
