NEW ALBANY – Jerry Frank Klockmann, 71, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, Jan. 17, 2022. He was born in San Mateo, California, to the late Ruth (Riddle) Klockmann and Frank E. Klockmann.
Jerry grew up in New Albany, Indiana, where he loved to play baseball, hunt, fish, spend weekends at his grandparent’s farm in Crawford Co., IN, and travel the United States with his parents and his sisters. He was a 1968 graduate of New Albany High School and a 1972 graduate of Purdue University where he earned a B.S. in Forestry. Jerry loved New Albany, Floyd Central and Purdue athletics, traveling the scenic backroads, his walking club and talking to his friends. Also, his interest in hunting and fishing never wavered. Jerry enjoyed coaching Little League baseball and soccer (the Blue Bombers) and the time he spent with his family and close friends.
Jerry loved the Nashville music scene and he was a bluegrass and country music encyclopedia. Every summer you could find Jerry at the Kentucky and Indiana State Fairs.
Jerry was a member of Electrical Workers Local Union No. 369, a former surveyor and construction project manager.
